Flower arrangement

Maya likes flowers.

She can't help but fiddle them...

and sniff them.

Her version of flower arranging: pluck the petals and spread them all over.

We threw a baby shower for my sister. It felt like 100 degrees that afternoon. Kind of unusual for April. Chilled drinks, shade provided by our tree, and good company made it a lot better. Maya will have a new cousin soon. She can't wait. Maya's thoughts, below:

While the adults amused themselves with silly games, us kids discussed the the latest debate between Clinton and Obama. See cousin Jacob on the swing? He's in deep thought regarding the world's most pressing problems.

Easter

Easter Sunday at my cousin's house. Mid-80's with a slight breeze. Dappled sunlight through the trees... Laughter, food, and stories. Baskets, eggs, and candy. Babies, kids, and adults hunting for pastel colored eggs later interrupted by bees from a nearby tree. No one got stung though. Everyone just moved to the patio and continued enjoying the rest of the beautiful Sunday afternoon.
