It's Easter Sunday today. After church, we went to Auntie Rowen's home for our annual Easter celebration.
Cousins. We miss Jacob. We hope to see you soon!
Cousins in Easter basket hats and Uncle Peter as...wait for it...Peter Rabbit. Taa-dah!
Some mommy time. Lemme go!
Our loot from the egg hunt.
Chocolate, why of course!
We were taking pictures and Kayla started opening Easter eggs. Leanne and I started barking military-style orders at her not to open them. She started crying and asking for her mom. I have to admit we were were kinda harsh. But then someone yelled "smile" and she smiled. Sorry, Kayla, for being a little mean to you.
As the adults stuffed themselves with lots of food, us girls passed time by taking turns chucking Leanne's Barbies up at the lemon tree. That was fun.
Then this happened. Oh well, it's so much fun, we kept doing it and asking adults to retrieve the dolls.
Portrait of cousins. Nicole and Dana couldn't be here with us because they're stuck up north finishing up their semester in college. We missed them. Mike was sad because he either was missing his sister, Dana, or because he had a not-so-great egg hunt. I think it's the latter.
We had what my cousins call the Egglympics.
First game of the Egglympics is the egg hunt. One for the little ones and one for the big cousins. The one for the big cousins can resemble the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Once in a while there is a scuffle or wrestling with lots of laughing involved. So we get out of the way. No one got hurt today, so that's good. Then after that, we had an egg painting contest. Mine is the pink one with two flower stickers on it. All of these are great works of art, but mine has an understated elegance to it. Yeah? We also had an egg eating contest. Alyssa won again for the third straight year. She ate three hard-boiled eggs in seconds. Congrats! Then the moms did it too. My mom participated, but Alyssa's mom won. I guess it runs in the family.
Family portrait with my smirk/grimace/sour/frown face.
HAPPY EASTER!
