Nite-nite

Don't forget to read books to your kids every night.
Or at least let them look at book.  Whatever works for you.

Playdate

I had a playdate with my friend Asha.
We really had a good time.
We especially love hanging around like monkeys.

Miniature Work of Art

On a recent trip to the store Anthropologie, my mommy bought this solid perfume thingy.
Although I love the smell, I was most fascinated by the box it came in.
It came with miniature cards about as big as a quarter coin.
The attention to detail on this packaging is a work of art.  Fascinating!

80's night

I didn't watch my usual Sesame Street or Blues Clues tonight.  It's music night. Mommy and I listen to a bunch of songs and danced to them.  I found out that I actually like 80's music.  I kinda like the Pixies, Simple Minds, The Psychedelic Furs, The Smiths...I know huh?  Who are these bands?  Anyway, if your parents grew up in the 80's, I'm sure they know them and found them real cool.
Exhausted shoes after dancing with mommy.

Breakfast and Art

I like eating breakfast.
One of favorite things to eat is wheat toast with butter and honey.  So good.
As mommy and I were eating, we noticed how the morning light was pouring in the kitchen window. Then we looked at the grapefruit in front of us and how the light hit it.  Looked like a Vermeer still life.  Beautiful, isn't it?

Parks and Recs

Almost every weekend, my daddy and I go out to looks for new parks or playgrounds to explore.  We especially love discovering school playgrounds where we can trespass. We leave mommy at home because she usually is catching up on chores.  Actually, sometimes we'd rather not take her because she's always worrying that I will fall or trip or scratch myself.  "Be careful." "Don't climb that." "Are you hungry?" "Watch out" "Wipe your hands" "Dude, we're tresspassing!"....blah, blah...So yeah...we, leave her at home.  But my daddy still wants her to share the moment and know what I'm up to, so he texts her pictures which I'm sharing with you.  Then when we get home, daddy would just update her if I fell or got scratched somehow.  First thing she asks is if I hit my head.  If the answer is no, every other bump or scratch is taken lightly.

Fractiles-7

Have you ever played Fractiles-7?  It's kind of a cool puzzle thingy. It was my daddy's and now I claim it as mine. I spend a good amount of time making flowers, rocket ships, robots, and more flowers.
Best of all it's magnetic so when you're done, no need to worry about your work falling off. Just make sure you pick up the little pieces that fall on the floor. Your mom will get really annoyed by them when she's vacuuming.

Snails

Oh by the way, while we were working on the veggie planter, we found a few snails in the area we were clearing.  We decided to transplant them on another part of the yard.
Snails are cool and slimey.  I watched them get oriented with their new area.
Have you seen a snail do a piggy back ride?  Well, now you have.  And nope, I had nothing to do with this snail climbing on this other one.  It did it all by itself.

Small snail dude: "Geez, where am I??!  Excuse me, sir, may I hitch a ride?"
Big snail dude: "Sure, buddy.  Where ya goin'?"
Small snail dude: "I dunno, wherever you're going I guess."
Big snail dude: "Alright, well I'm famished.  I'm headin' over in the grassy area over there.  You up to it?"
Small snail dude: "Oh yeah, that'd be great.  Thanks. I was having breakfast earlier when this giant pink glove snatched me and put me down here.  Rude, whatever that was."

Veggie Garden

After much planning, my mom finally started our vegetable garden.
We started early by clearing a 3'x6' area on the side of the yard.
Mommy cleared out the plants and weeds and, with the help of daddy, built the raised planter.
In between diggings, we played with Charlie who was just chewing away at twigs.
He loves, loves the back massage mommy gives him.
After putting new garden soil in it, it's time to plant.
We planted zucchini, eggplant, green beans, bell peppers, heirloom tomatoes, carrots, chives, lettuce, onion, and some herbs.
I keep asking my mom where the vegetables are.  She kept telling me we have to wait for them to grow. We'll see how it goes.  This will test my 3 year old patience.  Wish us luck!

Sally

We came home today and discovered Sally was not moving in her tank.  I asked my mom what happened and she reluctantly said Sally had died. She sadly explained that living things, big and small, pass on at some time in their lives.  But that we need to enjoy them and not take them for granted while they are with us.  Then we started talking about how silly Sally was. And how we enjoyed her. You see, Sally was my very first fish that I got from the Los Angeles County Fair back in October.  She provided a calm and soothing presence in our kitchen.  She lived in a little fish tank we put on our windowsill.  Day after day, she watched sunny days and rainy days come and go.  She was always so happy to see people and she wagged her little tail when you come close and feed her.
I am sad, but I try to remember how she made me happy.
Goodbye, Sally.  I'll miss you.

Scarf

Here are different ways to wear a scarf.  I personally like the last one so I don't see you.

Someone's birthday

Someone got older.  I think I call her mommy or something like that.  She's my own personal assistant from wiping boogies to taking care of boo-boos.
Kayla and I always look forward to the cake part.  Don't you? Doesn't my cousin look real yummy like a cupcake?  Tee-hee.
There are four people in this picture.  Three are smiling and one's mad-dogging the camera.
