Shuttle Endeavour

Today is a special day.  The space shuttle Endeavour finally landed in Los Angeles to retire. It flew by my mom's office building.  It arrived on a piggyback ride on a modified 747 jet.  How cool is that! Lots of pictures were taken by many people all over the city.  It will reside in one of my favorite places to visit, the California Science Center.  So it's a happy day.  But it's also a sad day, as its arrival marks the end of the three-decade career of the NASA's space shuttle program.  I do hope another space shuttle program will start in my lifetime.

It's also a special day because it's the 11th wedding
anniversary of two of the funniest people I know.

Getty Bug and Me

Since I was born, my parents have taken me to the Getty Center almost every year. Every time we go, they take a picture of me under the  Specimen (After Dürer), John Baldessari, 2000 painting.

Bike and Run

Took out my bike on the trail today.
I like to go fast.  Wait...where'd my helmet go?
Ah, there it is.  I am pacing my mom for her early evening run.

Flashback Monday

Here are some old pictures my daddy dug up when he was selling my daybed. I was about two.
Was laying on it for one last time before another family bought it from us.
I only used it for a few months until my parents decided I needed a real bed.
Not sure why I'm holding an IKEA pencil. Oh well.  Bye-bye bed.

First Grade

Here's my first day at school.  Woke up early.  See the bags under my eyes?
I like my new teacher and am adapting to the new schedule.
By the end of the week, I requested to go to the local fair so I can release some stress by petting some farm animals.  I like this chicken a lot. And I think it likes me too.  It calmly stayed on my lap and napped for a bit.  It's the kind of chicken that looks like it's wearing pants. Not sure what kind of chicken it is, but it's very cute.
And then the weekend came around.  After I helped mommy sort the laundry (notice I'm wearing her tank top and I came up with a way to fit around my neck by using my hair clip), I did my homework. Ah...life of a five year old.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  For real.  It's been camping there for two days.
It ate half of the tomato already.

It almost eats as much as the caterpillar in the book.
