Moose and Zee

It was very hot outside today (108 degrees) so we stayed indoors and did some arts and crafts to keep us occupied.  My mommy and I made no-sew snuggle pillows of Moose and Zee from Nick Jr
If you have some different colored felt, googly eyes, glue, cotton, and scissors you can make them.  If you're interested in making these no-sew snuggle pillows, you can find the directions here and here. We didn't make them exactly the way the directions told us to because we just  worked with what we have. You can do the same.
I really like this one song Moose sings called "Everywhere I Go". Here's the video. It'll make you feel good.  Enjoy!

Dinner and a concert..without me

My daddy took my mommy on a date. They went to dinner and a concert.
I wouldn't care so much for the dinner or concert, but guess who they saw?
They saw the English band, MUSE at the Staples Center. They happened to be my favorite band. I tell my mom sometimes I wanna listen to Matt (name of lead singer), then she says, "Oh you mean Muse?"  I asked my mom if I could go, but she said its an event for grown ups and that I might get trampled by people jumping up and down and stuff.
Looking at the pictures, yes, I guess it was good I didn't go.  Especially when they told me about the crazed fans two rows in front of them.
My parents had a really awesome night, but still I wish I went.  So my mom just treated me with You Tube videos so I could also enjoy my favorite band, too.  See here, here, and here.  Here are videos of StarlightHysteria, and Resistance, a few of my favorites.  They're not from the concert last night, but they just further demonstrate the awesomeness of the band. Can't wait to be a grownup and go! Hope they'll be around  then.

While my parents were out, my lolo and lola looked after me.  They are so nice to do that for my parents so they can have some time to themselves without me bugging them.  Thank you lolo and lola.  We love you!

Countdowns and bedtime stories

7:55pm. My mom and I were doing cut outs.
Then she asked me to draw faces on them and she left for a little bit.

8:05pm. I got frustrated and threw things everywhere.  My mom comes back and sees what happened. She gave me the 10-1countdown to take my trashcan out and put
everything in there...or no bedtime stories.
8:07pm. I don't like countdowns and I like bedtime stories, so I grabbed my trashcan and put my mess in it.  Does your mom do countdowns?

Biker Chic

I like to wear my mom's boots when I'm measuring the height of my monkey.

On a side note...

My mom picked me up today from school and me and my friend Hannah went up to her and our conversation went like this:

Me: Mommy, can we take Hannah home today?
Mommy: Wha-
Hannah: Yes, I wanna see Maya's room.
Me: Yes, mommy she wants to see my bedroom and play with my toys.
Mommy: Um...
Hannah: Yes, I can stay for five days!
Me: Yes!
Mommy:  Eh? Um, not today Maya. We can't just take Hannah with us.
Hannah: Oh my mom knows already.
Mommy: Er, okay then..maybe next time.  C'mon Maya, let's go! (combined with the evil-eye)

I don't get it.  Can't a 3-year old plan her own sleep-overs nowadays?

Ninth Year

Happy 9th Wedding Anniversary to my parents!
They met in 1992. After 9 years of being together, they decided to get married in 2001.
Five years later, I decided to show up and turn their world upside down.
It's been quite a ride.  But after 18 years, they still make each other laugh.
Cool huh?

Target?

As I get older, my mom gets to have more time to herself.  She tells me she's taking a class.  I ask if they have story time or circle time or painting time.  She says no and she tells me the class involves hiking rough terrain, bows, arrows, and a target.  Target?  What kind of class takes place at Target and why is she hiking there?  We just buy things from there isn't it? She tries to explain some more, but eventually gives up. I don't get it.  All I know is when she goes missing early Saturday mornings, she's at Target.

What nap?

It's the weekend, so who needs a nap?  When my mom made me, I made sure I fought her every step of the way.  So I kept coming out of my room telling her I don't want to take a nap.
I'm not about to let her win this game.  No way.
She let me be and then she found me here in the hallway.  Napping. She then tried to take me back to my bed.  I threw a big fit.  But of course. Flailing arms, kicking, squealing...all the works.  How dare she remove me from a perfectly comfortable nap spot.  I like bonking my head on the wall and moulding.  She put me in my room and closed the door.
She checked back on me after ten minutes because she heard some snoring.  This is what she found.  Who said I needed a nap?  Obviously, I really don't need one...

(Makes motions turning a knob down on tummy and start mouthing words as if on mute).

Parents start laughing and shakes weary heads.

San Diego

We went to visit my daddy's daddy over the weekend. We went to the zoo and visited my daddy's favorite spots as a child.
It was kinda hot as we walked about the zoo.  Even the meerkats just want to hang in the shade.
Koalas really have it good.  They just hang out and eat all day.
The zoo has a new exhibit called Elephant Odyssey.  Very impressive facility.  Reminds me of the dinosaur cages in the movie Jurrassic Park
We all wished we were swimming with this huge hippo in this yummy green water.
Daddy found another source of lunch.  Eww.  I just really want to ride this big kitty cat.
I got to sit in a helicopter.  I'll fly one one day.  Oh and the polar bears were roaming about not wanting to dip in the icy water.
Sunset Cliffs are always part of our agenda when visiting San Diego.

With the parents at sunset.
We drove around and saw daddy's childhood home and also the playground he played in.

I think I'm hanging on the same climbers he used as a child. Then we got to ride a train around Balboa Park. You see that guy I'm sharing the train car with?  Cool huh?  He doesn't talk much.
Choo-choo!
