Summer Vacation's End

Summer vacation is coming to an end.  I start first grade next week.  It's been a fun summer.  I spent 8 weeks at Summer Camp at the Wilderness Park.  Met some cool friends and had great camp counselors.  We swam, played games, and had field trips.  It's been great.  To recap, here are some pictures that captured my summer.
A bunch of park visits.
Hanging out in Soak City with daddy and Grandpa and big cotton candy treats.
Eating soup. I'm into various soups lately.
Meeting cousin Eva and visiting Great Grandma.

Night swim classes.
Playing dress up.
 Hanging out with mom.
Summer painting and heirloom tomatoes.
Charlie, my buddy, and flip flops.
Dirty backpack that carried my things at summer camp and numerous viewings of "Adventure Time".
This week is down time and rest.  My mom took this whole week off from work to spend time with me. Although Summer Camp was fun, it was a bit hectic with the various schedules we had to follow.  So she just wants to make sure that this week I have time to just lay on my bedroom floor, hang out in the backyard, and do whatever like play with my toys and stuff.  No schedules to follow. Once school starts, it's a rat race of homework and regimented work/school week schedules, etc.

Goodbye summer vacation, I will miss you. See you again next year!
First grade, here I come!!!

Hot Summer Day

The weather's been hot for last few days.  And today was really hot. The mercury slowly crept over 100 degrees. I think it ended up being 106 degrees.
Charlie stayed indoors most of the day and laid on the cool tile floor.
My mom and dad are also juicing a lot of veggies and fruits.  The juice is really tasty with ice on a hot day.
I did some summer homework to make sure I'm good to go when I start first grade.
Like Charlie, I also stayed indoors today. I didn't even ask if we could go to the park, which I always, always do. Aside from doing school work, I played with my dolls, played in my dad's computer, ate a popsicle, listened to Katy Perry, painted, watched Adventure Time, ate shaved ice (bubblegum flavor), and watched the movie, The Lorax.  I also stared at Blueberry, my fish, wishing I was a fish in the water.

How do you cool off on a hot day?

Pixar in Concert

My parents and I went to the Hollywood Bowl to see Pixar in Concert.  Pixar is the animation studios that made "Toy Story 1, 2, & 3", "Cars", "Up", "Monsters Inc", "Finding Nemo", "The Incredibles", "Wall-E", and "Brave".  As you can see, these are all my favorite movies.
It was neat to hear the orchestra play the music behind the films.  They had clips of the movies playing on the giant screens. Randy Newman, the guy who composed music for "Toy Story" and sang "You Got a Friend in Me" was sitting in the front row watching and enjoying the show, too.
Thomas Wilkins, was the Principal Guest Conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for Saturday night. He was really good at tying the show together with introductions and giving a background on the films and the music that they're about to play.  They brought in a bagpiper from Scotland to play for the film "Brave".  It was neat to hear him play with the orchestra. People really enjoyed the show.
Just some of the Pixar-related film character toys I've collected since I started watching movies.
I brought Merida (with red hair) with me to the show to keep me company.
