Boo 2010

It's that time of the year again.  When everyone, young and old, dress up for fun. I thought long and hard on what I wanted to be.  I decided to be Belle, then I changed my mind to Astrid (the girl viking from "How to Train Your Dragon"), then...I decided to be a Viking Belle.
But in the end, I wanted to be Belle...in boots.
 Here's me looking kinda cute.
Guess what my uncle dressed up as?  DJ Lance Rock from the Nick Jr. show Yo Gabba Gabba!!!  So cool.  And yes, that is his boom box and there is a candy slot in the back.  Clever.
We walked all around the neighborhood and kids and adults were like, "OMG it's DJ Lance Rock!!" It was funny.  Some parents to a picture of him. Hehe..
 Here's our loot.  Lotsa CAAAAAANNNNDYYYYY...
Kayla and I were a little tired after all that trick or treating, but we had a lot a of fun.
Hope you had a safe and enjoyable Halloween!

Growing Feet

Oh my...how my feet have grown.  The itty bitty ones are size 4 for toddlers. I wore these when I was about 1-2 years old. I loved these shoes. Here's me wearing them while doing calisthenics at The Getty. Now, I wear 9 1/2s.  These new hiking shoes are gonna take me to an adventure that I'll tell you about in a few weeks. One thing that hasn't changed is my favorite color. Can you tell what it is?

Twice the cake

My friend Hannah and I were wearing the same shirts today. We were so excited and giggly like we hit a jackpot or something. Looks like our mommies shop for play clothes at the same store.

You want some?

Charlie likes to eat grass to supplement his diet.  I haven't tried eating grass, but sometimes it's tempting because this dog can make things look (and sound) yummier than they are.

Happy Plants

The recent rain made all kind of plants in our backyard happy.
Our kumquat is bearing some blossoms and fruit.
 Our lettuce is growing.
 Our cauliflower is thriving.
C'mon baby strawberry, you can do it.
The buttercrunch lettuce is green and shiny.
Even our lone rose bush, a gift from my dad to my mom, is blooming.

Pumpkin Carving Party

My cousin Kayla hosted a Pumpkin Carving Party.
She and auntie made delectable cupcakes. Mmm-mmm.
Our parents were busy carving the pumpkins while us kids ran around and played and watched movies.
This are the two pumpkins my mommy carved.
After cupcakes and running around.  We dug through a Halloween treasure chest.  Oh yeah!
Here are some of the parents and us kids.  See how tired us kids look?  Yeah, we're wiped out.
Thanks, Kayla, for hosting a very cool party!

Got Questions?

I do!
Tonight, in an attempt to delay my sleeptime, I asked my mom a bunch of intriguing and compelling questions that she can't avoid but answer.  It worked!  It bought me good fifteen minutes of discussion.  I asked her questions mostly about evolution-, anatomy-, process-related stuff:

1.) Who made me?  Who made my head round?  My mom attempted to answer my questions by combining religion with evolution. Something about God created the earth and He decided to put monkeys there and the monkeys evolved to people.  But why do we still have monkeys around?
2.) What's behind my throat?  What's spine?  It holds up my ribs? What happens to my head if I don't have a spine? Oh, it'll just hang there? Do penguins  have skeletons? Why is my skeleton wrapped up in skin?  What happened to the skin of skeletons?   What do you mean it turns to dust? Remember when we went to the museum and I had a brush and was looking for skeleton?  Are those real, mommy? Can we go again?
3.) What do cows play?  What do they drink?  Who put milk in their boobies? Their bodies make it?  How do they make it?  Our milk in the fridge is from cows?  Can we get a cow?

It just dawned on me that that's my mom's weakness.  She loves discussions like this.  Don't tell her, but I'm trying to practice and refine my questioning for longer wake up times.  Tee-hee.

We got 'shrooms

Because of the rain, mushrooms started popping out in some areas of our backyard especially near our veggie patch.  I like to imagine that there are really small fairies and gnomes hiding under it.  Maybe there really are...

Sick daddy

My daddy is not feeling well. He has boogies and cough and a little fever.  I keep him warm by laying on top of him.  Feel better soon, daddy.

What a treat!

 This is mine.
Red Velvet, Raspberry Cheesecake, and Carrot from a local cupcake shop.  The one with the raspberry on top was my daddy's.  He forgot to eat it one night. The next morning he was looking for it and it was gone.  Poof! A goner. He texted my mom at work and asked where his cupcake went.  My mom told him she ate it.  In her mind she was thinking, "You snooze, you lose...buddy."

What kind of payback does one ask the person who ate their cupcake ?
You ask them to make you a couple of dozen of red velvet cupcakes to bring to work.
That's just what my daddy did.

Browser

I love the fall book selections. Especially  Halloween books.
Bookstores are one of my favorite hangouts.  It can be hard to get me to leave there. Sometimes, my mom has to coax me with gum or oreo cookie crumbs outta there. Sometimes she has to drag me by the feet.
Oooh, look! They have a book about Despicable Me. I like that movie. I wanted to browse more books, but lucky her I got hungry.  So at the mention of curry chicken, I was ready to go.  No gum or oreo cookie crumbs involved.

Smelly

My mom and I like going to smelly stores like Bath and Body Works, Yankee Candle, etc. We smell all the stuff in the store to a point where we can't both smell anything when we come out.
Recently, my mom took me to one of her favorite stores, The Soap Kitchen.  Wow, they actually make the soaps in the store and everything smells sooo good.  Everything is made from ingredients I could eat. It's very tempting, but you can't eat it.  Believe me I tried to lick it.  Note to self: Never do that again because it didn't taste good.
My mom let's the smaller soap go on a piggy back ride on the new soap. I thought that's cool. When your soap is too small to handle, get your new soap, moisten it, and let the smaller soap piggy back ride on it overnight.  It'll set to it really good and therefore, no waste.  Also, you get a new smell combination.  Mmmm...

Do you have a favorite smelly (good smelly) thing?

Irvine Park Railroad

Howdy. Welcome to Irvine Park Railroad.
Trotting ponies.  I was bouncing all over the place, but it was pretty cool.  I like my pony because it looks like one of my Little Ponies.
We road a train that went all over the park.  Choo-choo!
Posing among the pumpkins.
This is my lab head partner.
They had a haunted house!! I liked it a lot and went in like five times!
We also played a game where we both got a prize.  A blow up purple monkey!
We played with our monkeys for a while.  Pretending they're in trouble, taking baths, and stuff while our parents and grandparents rested.
Then a brother and sister team disturbed our play and were fighting with their blow up swords.  The little brother fell over the pumpkins and started crying.  Of course, Kayla and I stopped what were doing and did what most kids are good at.  Stare at kids get in trouble while their parents.  Then it was time to go.  Oh well, show's over.  But we had fun.

Smarty Pants

I didn't want to brush my teeth last night.  My mom and I were negotiating in the bathroom.  I could tell she's getting tired and that's when she resorted to her scare tactics to get me to brush my teeth.  She said, "I'm going to turn off the lights, leave, and lock the door."  I looked at her then looked at the door knob and said, "Mommy, the lock is inside.  I can just unlock it."  Then she said, "Just brush your teeth, please..."

Duh, mommy.  Duh.

Office Space

I now have my own office space.  I use to sit at my mom's desk or my dad's.  Now they set me up with my own grown up desk.  Don't call me though. I'm very busy doing 3 year old things.

Mini Bowling with a Pez Dispenser

Do you wanna play mini bowling with me and a Jessie Pez dispenser?  C'mon over.  BTW, I tried Pez candy and I'm really not a big fan. Bleah.

Crank

I've been extra cranky this weekend.  Whoo-wee!  Lotsa negotiating and tantrums.  My mom took me to Michael's to browse some fall arts and crafts. Normally, I would be enjoying this.  But man, my 'tude was just something else.  See that rubber chicken I'm holding?  I wanted to get it and my mom let me hold it while we went through the store.  That thing stunk and cranked up my crankiness a notch.  In the end, I changed my mind (which I tend to do a lot lately) and didn't want it.  Which is good I guess, I don't need another darn little toy. Boy, my mom was glad to be outta there.  It's just miserable being a 3 year old sometimes.

Books everywhere!

My school gives us Scholastic catalogs.  We ordered my picks for fall reading and the books came in recently.  Yay!  Here's our reading list:

I also love Halloween-related books.  I actually have my mom read them all year round.  Here are the ones I got recently:

What are you reading right now?
