Easter

Easter Sunday at my cousin's house. Mid-80's with a slight breeze. Dappled sunlight through the trees... Laughter, food, and stories. Baskets, eggs, and candy. Babies, kids, and adults hunting for pastel colored eggs later interrupted by bees from a nearby tree. No one got stung though. Everyone just moved to the patio and continued enjoying the rest of the beautiful Sunday afternoon.

I see some eggs...

Taking a break in the shade with cousin Leanne...

...after some crazy egg hunting and some dancing.

Guess why mommy's chasing me?

Because I'm trying to wake my cousin Jacob.

I just want to make sure he didn't miss the egg hunting.

Eggs everywhere!

All done!

Lemon Wedge

For you folks who have kids, you probably understand how it is when your kid just won't sit still at a restaurant. Maya is usually pretty good, but today was an exception. (Perhaps a sugar high because her daddy gave her some ice cream earlier...) We're sitting there trying to eat and she didn't want anything to do with food. I looked in her bag for back up (toys) and found that I forgot to bring some. Crap. So let's see, I have to come up with something. Quick. I can't give her the plates, bowls, and utensils because they're not ours to break. Plus we don't want to provide a construction-like ambience to our neighboring customers. So I kept looking around and...TADAAAH, lemon wedge! All I can say is she had a blast. So consider a lemon wedge next time you're almost at your wit's end. Goodluck.

It could be a teeter-totter.

A boat.
A dog that licks fingers.
Or just a lemon wedge cruising across the table.

Charlie

We recently neutered our dog, Charlie. He was dropped off early in the morning by his dad at the vet and we picked him up late in the afternoon. Boy, was he glad to see us. He had a clear cone protector around his head and he was seriously freaked out by it. We decided not to leave it on overnight because the poor dog was whining like it was his last night on earth. Even Maya was like, "What happened to him and how come I didn't get a cone around my head?" She was very curious about the cone and once we took it off him, she took it and tried to put it over her head. See these two are best friends as you will see below. Anyway, Charlie is healing very well and has been very good not to lick his stitches. He knows that the dreaded cone will be back on if he does.

A (pizza crust) peace offering. Sorry dude...

Always by her side
Checking out the flowers

Enjoying the bubbles (He was actually snapping at them. A sight to see.)

He's always there whenever Maya explores the backyard.

here and there

I've been sick on and off for the last few weeks. Flu, cold, ear infection...bleah. I've been sanitizing everything a home to not infect my housemates. So far so good (knock on wood). It's hard taking care of a toddler when you're sick. You can't just crash and rest. Oh no. If I even attempt to lay down, there will be a little face peering down at me and saying, "HI!!!" (means let's play). Below are some random pictures taken as I was recovering at home.

This little piggy went to the market...
On my birthday and my best present ever is trying to get away.
