Memorial Day

It's Memorial Day and that means summer's here!
It is also a day to remember our fallen soldiers who served our country.

I am proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

How does stuff work?

We visited the California Science Center.  There was a bunch of stuff to look at.
Most of it I can't reach yet.
They got awsome structures and exhibits.
I got to stand next to a giant lady wondering how our ecosystem works.
I also got to walk all around Los Angeles in two minutes.
I learned how wind energy works.  I learned how fish got along together.
I also learned how a tidal wave starts.
It's a pretty neat place to learn about all kinds of things.
Check it out when you get a chance.

Resident Lizards

We have a couple of lizards that live around our veggie planter.
They help protect our veggies from buggy-bugs.

When we're around the planter, they always come out and seem to wanna say hello.
These types of lizards are called Western Fence Lizard or Blue-belly.
I tell you what.  When my mom's not looking, I'll try to wrestle one and see if its belly is really blue. Okay?

Garden Stones

After multiple attempts to get my mom to make these, she finally gave in today.  Everytime
I would ask, she always has some kind of excuse.  Like "it's 7:30am and I really don't want to make that right now", or I'm doing laundry right now, we can't", or "it's almost bedtime, maybe next time". Today, I was just waiting for her to say that it was too windy to make them, but I
was really happy when she said yes.  I think it's more "let's get this over with."  Because
you know, they're really not fun to make outside in windy conditions with a 3 year old.
I basically watched and assisted by being a human paper weight on the work area so
things won't blow away. My mom, in the meantime, rushed kneading the mix and made
sure the plaster didn't harden too fast before the stones were put in. She was also busy
telling me "no this" and "no that".  Geez, I just wanted to put the sparkly glitter on my face
and also dip my finger in the paster.  What's the big deal?  She did, however, let me help
put the stones on and also sprinkle the sparkly glitter.
I thought they turned out good.  We'll decorate our vegetable garden with them. Cool huh?

Weird Weather

The sun has been playing hide and seek this morning and it's really windy.  Kinda nice though.
Our chimes are busy dancing and tinkling.

Reading Material

Do you like to read while you're eating breakfast?  I do.

Whodunnit?

Um...okay.  Remember the strawberry that I've been waiting to eat?  The one that I was being patient about and stuff?  I checked it again this afternoon and someone...something...took a delicious bite out of it.  Whoever, whatever you are...that's not cool.  I hope your two front teeth fall out.

Quiet Sunday Afternoon

Mom is listening to Miles Davis in the living room and I'm in my room scribbling.  It's a nice quiet afternoon. Slight breeze coming through my window.  I put Muno on top of the curtain
so it doesn't blow into my face.
A few minutes later, mommy came in my room and sat down on the floor to see what
I was doing.  Then I asked her:
Me: Mommy, are you happy?
Mommy: Uh...yeah...? Are you happy?
Me: Yeah.
Mommy: What makes you happy?
Me: Flowers make me happy.  Oh and lip balm, too.
Mommy: Oh okay.

Produce...well sorta

I'm very excited to report that our vegetable garden is starting to produce baby veggies and fruits.  Mommy said we need to wait a little longer for me to eat these.  So I'm waiting...
