Mommy: "No, he's retired."

Perfect Day

Today was a such a nice day. The sun was out. It was 80 degrees. 

Perfect in every way, except I had a low grade fever.  

So I just hung out with my mom at home on this MLK holiday.

We still had fun.  She still thinks it's a perfect day. 

We both wished the day didn't have to end.
She'll go back to her 10-hour days at the office.
When it get's stressful, I know she'll think about today.

 It was a busy day today. We visited family and friends we haven't seen for awhile.

I was so tired at the end of the day. I fell asleep while eating my yogurt.  Zzzzzz....

Minion

Have you seen the movie "Despicable Me"? If you have, you know what a minion is. I've been bugging my mom to make me one.  So finally tonight, she gave in. She just used yellow and blue clay and also googly eyes. The finished product doesn't look exactly like the movie minion. It seem to look like a cross between a lumpy lemon and Humpty Dumpty, doesn't it? But regardless, I think it's cute. I love these guys.

New Year

I hope you had a good new years.  Ours started with my lolo spending the first two days of the new year in the hospital. He had to be confined to get his heart checked. He's home now, but the hospital staff is constantly monitoring him and is still going under series of tests. We're crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.  Health is such a fragile thing and sometimes we take it for granted.  This new year, let's make sure we take care of ourselves and others as well.

My mom, auntie, lola, and lolo had some pretty funny conversations at the hospital, so it relieved some of the stress.  My cousin Kayla came with my auntie for a visit. As my lolo got up from his bed to walk, Kayla looked at his hospital gown and quietly asked my auntie, "What's wrong with lolo's 'dress'?"
