Me and my dog

Charlie and me, sunning ourselves on a lazy Sunday morning.

Hanging out with the cuz

It's pretty cool spending time with my cousin, Kayla.
On Friday, we went to the Monrovia Family Fair. We rode ponies and played in the petting zoo for awhile.
Then we got our balloons.  Yay!
On Saturday, I saw her again.  We attended her pre-school art show at my old school.  I saw my former teachers.  Here's Ms. Maria.  She was my teacher when I was 3-4 years old. I learned a lot from her.
Some of the art work from the students.
Kayla playing hot hands with daddy.
Here's my other former teacher, Ms. Nelly.  She was my teacher when I was 2 - 3 years old.  I enjoyed her class very much.  Kayla's in her class now.
I love my cousin.

Earth Day 2012

HAPPY EARTH DAY!
Several of our veggie seeds finally sprouted. Crossing our fingers for a bountiful harvest in the summer.

Solar Power

Have you tried solar power to charge your gadgets?  It's pretty neat.  Solar chargers are cheap now and you can get them from specialty stores.  This little one we have we got from REI.  Just leave it out for a few hours in direct sunlight to harvest the sun's energy and voila! Charge whatever you want. Getting off the grid in a small way.

Let's Play

All weekend long I've been bugging my parents to take me to Jump n' Jammin in the City of Arcadia.  So today, my mom took me in between errands.
My mom's yellow-green socks.  You need to wear socks in this place. No shoes allowed.
 Shootin' some canons.
Crawling and climbing all over the place.
Made my mom climb, crawl, and chase me around the three floors.  She was going on slides and stuff, too.  Then we came to the mysterious black chute/slide from the third level.  A couple of times I asked her to do it, but she passed because I think she's scared.  (Who's the mommy here??)  But the third time I asked, she gathered her courage to do it. I went first to show her and then I yelled for her to slide down when I reached the bottom.  When the chute finally spit her out, she looked bewildered.  She thought she shot out into the next city over which is Temple City, because the slide was kinda steep and fast.  She's funny sometimes.

Spring Gardening

We spent most of the weekend doing yard work.  My parents are pretty sore.  While they were doing hard yard work, I found a ledge or rock to lean over to play in dirt and observe snails and worms.  Once in a while I would help put green waste in the trash, but then I go back to my spots checking on the snails and worms' journey along the rocks and dirt. They're pretty cool creatures.  It's a beautiful day today.  My mom decided to start her veggie seeds:
Cool, breezy, and beautiful Sunday afternoon.  Check.
Fresh dirt.  Check.
Assorted veggie seeds.  Check.
And a dog trying to bother my mom while she tried to plant the seeds.  Priceless.

Mirror Lake, Lower Yosemite Falls, and Vernal Falls Footbridge hike

We went hiking for the next two days.
Here's me and daddy hiking to Mirror Lake.
I invented this thing where you hook on a stick to one of your parents' backpacks and let them pull you like a burro on steeper inclines of the hikes. It works.
 Mirror Lake.
It really isn't a lake. But it sure looks like a mirror because of the stillness of the water.
I discovered that there's a thin layer of ice on top of the water.
 Here's a piece.  Neat, huh?
 Break time on a rock.
We saw this family pass by as we were taking a break.  My daddy asked the other daddy if that was a Snuggie wrapped around the little boy.  He said it's his mommy's jacket.  Little boy fell into the shallow cold water.  Curious little boy.
We took the shuttle to get around.  Destination: Lower Yosemite Falls.
 There it is.
 And here's us.
 Choo-choo train again.
Beautiful falls.  It was freezing cold here.
 Amongst the trees.
Getting ready to cross the log that my daddy found along our hike.
There's undisturbed snow on the other side.  Let's go!
Yup.  Did I tell you I like snow?
Uh oh, boot got stuck.  Mommy to the rescue.
 Making a mini snow girl.
 Here she is.
 La familia.
Crossing back on another log.  This log was narrower than the first one.  Mommy first.
Let's go to Vernal Falls!
I am really happy among rocks.
I brought Wolfie with me to keep me company.
We reached the footbridge.  Wow, that was a strenuous hike.  There's few more miles to go that my parents hiked long time ago.  But not this time.  Not if they don't want to haul me way up there.
 Chillin' on a rock.
More rocks.  This is a little steep that makes my mommy's heart stop.  But daddy encouraged me and taught me how to come down using the "teeth" of my shoes.  No problem.
One of the hiking paths.  Looks like it's going to drop off huh?
 Vernal Falls Footbridge with mom.
 Sight from the footbridge.
A path in the middle of a rock slide pile.
Daddy and me at the footbridge.
Mommy in deep thought after the hike.
Me busy folding towels.  Don't know why.
It was great fun.
Come visit if you haven't yet or come again.
Farewell. 'Til next time.
