Let's sketch

My mom and I spent a little bit of time this morning sketching.

Outing with Lola

It was my Lola's birthday.
We took her to a nice lunch at a restaurant in Long Beach called Parkers' Lighthouse.
It was a beautiful day, but a little on the windy/chilly side.
We had a yummy lunch and I had a big serving of raspberry sorbet for dessert.
And Lola enjoyed her creme brulee.
The Queen Mary was nearby.  We stared at it for a little bit.
Photo op by bouganvilla flowers.
We enjoyed the day around the pier and we saw this lady.  Of course, I had to follow her around for a little bit.  Just fascinating to see someone walk on stilts!

Lola wanted to see some fishies, so we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific.  This Leafy Seadragon is one of the prettiest things in there.
And this majestic thing is just amazing.  Can you just imagine it with a top hat? Handsome fella.
 Hello stingrays that don't sting.

Oh, and there are birdies, too, just in case you get tired seeing sea creatures.
These purple spikey things kinda grab your fingers when your touch them.  Cool.
Here's a spider crab for yah.  My mom was like, "Ugh".  They probably come up to her knees and the body is almost as big as my head.  Imagine that thing walking down your hallway.
 Lolo and Lola.
Mom, Lolo, and Lola waiting for me and daddy.
We just had to.

It was a wonderful day with my family.
Happy Birthday, Lola!
I love you!

Losing a tooth and other things

I lost my first tooth and stuff.  So my mom started looking for pictures when I first sprouted that same tooth.  In the process of looking, she found these pictures.  I know you wanna see my gap in my teeth, but please bear with her as she insisted on posting these pictures of my little self.
 Baby bear sleeping.
Baby bear waking up in her cage.
Smiley upon waking.  My first two teeth.  One down.  The other one's wiggly.
Oh, yeah sorry, my mom insisted on adding this picture.  It's about my toe, you know.  Also a very important part of me.
Tah-dah!!  I know, kinda gross, but I had to show yah.
Well, my summer's been very swell.  I've been very busy with summer camp activities.  I hope you are enjoying your summer as well.

Lizzy

Daddy was cleaning outside in yard.  He found this dry lizard skin under something.  He called me because he knew how I've always wanted to catch a lizard.  As we're looking at it, we spotted the owner.
After much commotion, mainly a squee-ing sound from me because I was so excited, we captured the lizard!  I named her Lizzy.  Wow, I can't believe it.  I've tried to catch lizards in the backyard for awhile now without success.  So this is a dream come true.  We put her in an old and clean potato salad container.  We put holes on the top so it could breath.  I also brought in some leaves and grass so it would sorta still feel like it's in her own habitat.  I'd say she's about 10 inches long from tip to tip.  Isn't she pretty?
I was babysitting her for awhile. I put the container on my lap so I can stare at  her closer.  I placed the container on the table and I walked around with my hands behind my back like an expectant parent.  Then I sat back down again and stared at Lizzy.  No worries, my daddy and I will release her back in the wild in the early evening so she won't be late for dinner.

Frank Bonelli Park

Hi.  I'm at Frank Bonelli Park.
This rock playground is one of several playgrounds inside the park.  Whoo!  I am in heaven!
This rock playground is my absolute favorite.
It's got everything I wish for.
 Ropes to hang onto.
 Ropes to balance on.
It was a great day to go on a bike ride, too.
My dad and I rode our bikes while my mom did her run.  It was a nice day at the park.

Go to work with mommy

I always want to go to work with my mom.  Here's downtown Los Angeles at 6:30 in the morning.
I drew on her white board.
Played with her co-worker's toys (thanks Patricia!).  And monitored some guy sleeping in the bushes all day long from my mom's office window.  He would move about every hour.  I kept tabs on him to make sure he was still moving until we left.  He did.
I also created this fake kid sleeping.  It fooled one my my mom's co-workers.  It was funny.
It was a long day for me, but did very well.  Time to go now, mommy!

4th of July

Barbecue, lots of food, relaxing, kiddie pool, sparklers, and fireworks.
Hope you had a good 4th!

Bolsa Chica State Beach

My parent's friends decided to do a beach day with all of us kids.
We got to the beach at about 9:00am and spent all day there until 5:00pm.

 Lotsa play and lotsa food.
Not sure why I'm making this face.  But I think it's because I have sand somewhere it shouldn't.

Clouds rolled in and it started getting kinda cold.
But it was a great day, regardless.
