School Stuff

Oh hi!  Here's me after school. I'm now used to my kindergarten routine.
I now write my own math sentences (without being asked), answer them, check them, and even put stars on the ones I got right.
That's right!
Oh and yes, the spring pictures came home this week.  During picture week, I decided it would be the best time to fall on the concrete floor while doing jump rope.  As a result, I skinned my nose 3 days before picture day.  So by the time picture day came, I had this nice scab over it.  But my mom still wanted the picture taken, so here it is.  I think I still look cute don't you think?  That scabby nose of mine is officially documented.

Princess Sleepover

My cousin Kayla slept over this weekend.  We had lots of fun. By the time it was bedtime, we were still giggling and stuff. After a while my mom came in the room to tell us about some rules: No telling jokes, no poking each other, no kicking, no talking, and no rolling on each other.  Then I asked, "How about farting?" She thought for a second and she said that is fine. So is burping.  Sheesh...too many rules. But I dunno, farting and burping is a precursor to hysterical laughter in this princess camp.

Anthropologie

We stopped by "mommy's store" (Anthropologie) today.
My daddy and I found a quiet spot and waited for her until she's done browsing and shopping.
I found an old typwriter and started typing.  Now I'm buggin' my parents to get me one.
Huh? What are you laughing at?
Daddy found a book titled "Parisian Chic".
Now he has a little bit better understanding of what this store is about.
Mommy got four more latte bowls to add to her collection.
Because I guess we don't have enough for the three of us.

The Lorax

Who's this orange dude?
It's the Lorax, who else?  I recently saw the movie which was based on a Dr. Seuss book. The movie release coincided with Dr. Seuss' birthday which we celebrated at school.  I brought one of my books to school for show and tell called "Are You My Mother?".  Then my dad read a book in class called "I Love the Night Life!" No, it's not the 1970's song by Alicia Bridges (You Tube it - it's a groovy song).  What did I like about the movie?  Well, the character the Lorax, first of all.  He looks like a cool, cuddly, fluffy dude. What 5-year old can resist that? Especially when he lifts his behind to fly (a clever trick I'm gonna try when my mom's not looking). I liked the marshmallow-eating bears. The singing fish are pretty cool.  The Truffula trees are nice.  I really liked the boy Ted's uni-motorcyle.  That was awesome!
The story was pretty good with lessons learned.  It's not cool how the Once-ler used up all the Truffula trees to make thneeds.  Bad move. Conserve our resources, that's what it says. It's gonna be a pretty sad looking Earth for us young ones if we don't act now.
Here's the original book.  See the movie and read the book too.
