Are you (re)tired?

Maya: "Does Lolo still work?"

Mommy: "No, he's retired."

Maya quiet and thinking...

Maya: "Retired? Is he tired of work?"

Mommy: (laughs) "I guess you could say that."

A visit to one of our favorite places to hang out.

Every year since I was born, my parents take a picture of me in from of this art work.

 It's a beautiful day.

 Pretty flowers.

 Maze. For fish I guess.

Portrait of a lady.

I stick my tongue out when I run real fast. Makes me more aerodynamic.

 Snack time. Strawberries and grapes.

 My mama.

 Wheee!

Can you tell I like my daddy a lot?

Perfect Day

Today was a such a nice day. The sun was out. It was 80 degrees.

Perfect in every way, except I had a low grade fever.

So I just hung out with my mom at home on this MLK holiday.

We still had fun.  She still thinks it's a perfect day.

We both wished the day didn't have to end.
She'll go back to her 10-hour days at the office.
When it get's stressful, I know she'll think about today.

Family, friends, and firetrucks

It was a busy day today. We visited family and friends we haven't seen for awhile.

Aunt Destinee and I coloring.

Great Aunt Vi and Great Grandma

Don't mess with me, man. This giant garden dragonfly's gonna bite.

Family picture.  Missing Uncle Paul and Auntie Arlene.

We also went to visit my daddy's childhood friend. He's a fireman.

Uncle Jared let me explore the firetruck. I'm most impressed.

Oooohhh, look at this and that and this and that.

I don't want to leave.  Mommy, can I stay please?

Buttons and knobs and gauges everywhere. I was in heaven.

I was so tired at the end of the day. I fell asleep while eating my yogurt.  Zzzzzz....

It was great seeing everyone though. 'Til next time.

Minion

Have you seen the movie "Despicable Me"? If you have, you know what a minion is. I've been bugging my mom to make me one.  So finally tonight, she gave in. She just used yellow and blue clay and also googly eyes. The finished product doesn't look exactly like the movie minion. It seem to look like a cross between a lumpy lemon and Humpty Dumpty, doesn't it? But regardless, I think it's cute. I love these guys.
