Happy Halloween!

I've had a whirlwind of Fall/Halloween activities since Friday.
First, we had Harvest Festival at my school on Friday.
I had my face painted as a cat.  Meow!
Then my cousin Kayla hosted a Pumpkin Carving Party.  Boy, we had fun playing with my cousins and friends.
Here's my auntie, aunt Renee, mommy, and their friend Lauren.  I wasn't around in this picture because I probably was busy destroying something somewhere.
Then today, we had a Literary Character Parade at my school.  I wore my bunny ears and poofy tail.  I was representin' Peter Rabbit.  When we got home, I gave out candies to trick or treaters.  Here's my daddy dressed as Maverick from the movie, Top Gun.  That's a Tootsie Roll in his mouth.
And THEN, I still had time to go trick or treating with my friends.  I just recycled my old Belle costume from last year.  Do you like the lion sitting next to me?  His name is Gavin.  Ain't he the cutest wittle diddle lion you've ever seen???  Tee-hee.
Whoooo!  CAAAAANDY!!!! I had a long exciting day.  I'll be so tired tomorrow at Mrs. Logsdon's class.  Oh well, it was all worth it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

A Birth of a New Kitchen

Oh hey there. I'm very happy to report that we have a functioning kitchen again.
After weeks of this,...
...living in gray Sterilite bins,...
...loud banging and drilling noises,...
...using our living room as storage, makeshift kitchen, chaos central, and war room,...
...and with daddy's coordination, research, and patience; friends' helping hand; and grandpa's craftsmanship, expertise, and willingness to drive several times up on the weekends to see us to measure, craft, deliver, and install....it is finally done.  My daddy got really giddy as they laid the countertop.  After all his sweat, tears, frustration, and hard work, the kitchen finally came to fruition.
Here's my first morning in the new kitchen with eggs and pancakes to celebrate.
Thank you, Grandpa Dave, for building our cabinets. You are awesome! As a present, he gave me one of his custom-made stools that I like to zoom around in every time we visit their home.  Now, I get to zoom on it at home!

If you're interested in my grandpa's business, please visit his website at:
He makes awesome cabinets.

Those are big bun-buns

I've seen this sculpture many times.  This time, I just realized how big his behind is.
Sculpture of a really big dude in One Colorado, Pasadena.

A dog's point of view

I...I ...I...I'm not sure why my bed and food bowl keeps moving.  Ever since they decided to change the kitchen, there's been a lot of noise, pounding, and grilling all around.  People coming in and out with different things and different smells.  But I can't complain.  It provides good entertainment and all of the people have been very nice to me.
Many a time, I just stand there with a confused look on my face until I get yelled at by my dad to get out of the way.  But I like where this is going, I think.  I'm liking the cool feel of the floors against my paws.  I like that the cabinet colors match me.  I just hope they find a permanent spot for my bed soon.

What a mess

There has been a flurry of activity in our kitchen. It's a construction zone.  Gone is the "Mad Men" - 1960's style kitchen. There's plastic sheets are up in there when the guys are working. Holes in the walls were made to make way for new plumbing and additional electrical outlets. I like going in there and yell 'ECHO!!"  It's echo-ey because nothing's in there. We got an A-okay from the city inspector so now on to patching the walls. My dad has been acting as the general contractor and is doing a great job. We're kinda roughing it for the last few weeks, almost camping style. It forces you to make-do with the situation and get very creative while keeping a sense of order. The dog and the cat are a little confused, too.  The cat "talks" to us (reeeooowwwrrrr) and she has this face that looks like "Can someone tell me what the heck is going on???"  Charlie is being very patient and just like us, he's making-do.  Patience, patience...it'll be done soon.

It's that time of the year...

An interesting chain of events

How's your Sunday morning?  I hope it was nice.  Mine started like this.  I woke up.  Looked for my mom who was already having her coffee.  Sat on her lap for a while for a cuddle.  Then we went to my room to read one of my new books we ordered from Scholastic Books through my school.
I picked Fancy Nancy Sees Stars. My mom and I read it and after we finished my mom asked, " Hey, do you want to go to a planetarium like Nancy in the book?"  I said why yes, of course!  So we went and jumped on my dad who was still sleeping and told him of our morning plans.  First we got grunts.  Then he eventually woke up and we got going.
We went to Griffith Park Observatory. Turned out to be a beautiful day for a visit.
 There's the dome.
There were lots of interesting things to see inside. I checked out various elements.  Wow, there are so many.
Here's inside the Samuel Oschin Planetarium
We watched the "Water is Life" show.  It was awesome!
Lots of telescopes to peek through.  Let's see where the Big Dipper is...
Have your seen the movie "Despicable Me"?  I wonder if i could steal this moon... You'd know what I mean if you saw the movie.  Hee-hee..
 Mars looks like Arizona.
Okay, I was talking to this guy named Einstein and he told me to check out what's on his finger.
I'm very suspicious about it.  I hope he's not making me check out his boogers.
More binoculars to peek through.
 Hollywood sign behind us.
Here's Los Angeles for you.
I got to pick a souvenir between Polly pocket version of astronauts or a space shuttle.  I picked the space shuttle.
I figured I already have Polly Pocket dolls.  I think they need a space shuttle to take them to and back from space.  This one looks like it'll do the job.

Have you seen a space launch?  Just amazing.  The shuttle goes on a piggy back ride on solid rocket boosters.  I wonder what my mom and dad will say if I told them that I'd like a rocket booster for Christmas...

I learned a lot today.  We didn't plan to go anywhere or do anything, but one discovery led to another and I had an awesome day.

Keep discovering and learning.

Doodles

I like to draw a lot.  Just give me a pen and paper and I'll start drawing.
I like to draw people with extra long eyelashes.
I think I'm drawing a party scene here.
I'd even take an old dry erase board and draw on that.
