Curry Village, Yosemite National Park

We stayed in one of the tent cabins in Curry Village. This was semi-roughing it in the woods because there were no showers or bathroom in the tent cabin. You have to walk outside to another building to poop, pee, wash your face, and shower.  So if you need to pee at 3am, you gotta put shoes on, bundle up, get a flashlight, walk out of your tent, and pray you don't meet a bear in the dark on the way to the bathroom.
Here are the rules posted on the door.
There was only one light bulb hanging from the tent beams. Good thing the tent we're in had a heater because it gets really cold at night. There are unheated tents as well. Whoo, it's probably like sleeping in a freezer. We also had to put ALL our food and toiletries outside in the bear bins.  But you know what? This is the kind of stuff that makes me excited. I think it's cool.
There was space I can play in and nooks and crannies to put little toys in.
Here's all of our food in the bear bin.
Our tent neighbors are from all over.  We have an Australian family next door, a British family two doors down, and senior high schoolers on spring break on several cabins in the back.  But everyone is very polite and respects all the camp rules.  And you know what the best thing is?  There's snow!
Here's the guest lounge with Wi-Fi.  This is where my parents linger for a few minutes to check their work emails.
The ampitheater where they have evening shows in the summer.

We didn't see bears during our stay here, but we saw deer. Our first night there we heard some hollering and clapping at around 11pm. That means there's a bear somewhere and the rangers are shooing it away.  Then early in the morning, we heard one of the car alarms go off.  Oh boy, looks like a bear was messing around with one of the cars.
Sights as you walk around Camp Curry.
"I am the Lorax and I speak for the trees."
 Choo-choo train.

This is what I do when I'm waiting for my parents to get ready for a hike.  It's an added adventure for them to watch out for these snow mounds so they don't come sliding down the stairs.
This is the dining hall where you can eat massive amounts of food to fuel up before a hike and replenish afterwards.  They also have a burger and pizza joint.
Honey on my toast.
So let the adventure begin. This is our home for the next few days.
